Author Visits
Thanks for your interest in booking an author visit. My visits are designed with the specific needs of your school/organization in mind.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
- Honorariums begin at $750/day (up to three
sessions, each session up to 30 minutes long). - Within 45 minutes of Charlotte, NC, a single
session may be booked for $250. - For bookings 2 hours (or more) outside of
Charlotte, NC, travel and lodging expenses also apply.
Standard pre-school/elementary school visits include a reading of Around Our Way, student interaction to test for recall and discuss themes, and a Q&A session that allows students to ask questions about writing and the publication process. Themed presentations are also available, including Community, Diversity, and Picture Books from Start to Finish.
Customized presentations for all ages are available upon request.

I provide critique services for those 18 years and older who are interested in pursuing a career in picture book writing. I offer two types of manuscript critiques:
- A 3-5 paragraph summary – $35
- A line-by-line analysis – $45
For both types of critiques, a list of resources to aid in craft development is included.
